How many grams of long chain Omega 3 fatty acids are found
in one capsule of Sealogix™?
Each Sealogix™ capsule contains 600 mg. of long chain omega-3
fatty acids. This is double the amount found in health-food
grade fish oil capsules. Four Sealogix™ capsules would supply 2.4
grams of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, which is similar to
that found in one tablespoon of cod liver oil.
What is Sesamin?
Sesamine is a
lignan found in sesame seeds. Sesame has been a part of the diet
and traditional remedies since the beginning of time. In Asia
and the Middle East, it was used to treat a variety of diseases,
from the common cold to asthma and jaundice. Today, sesame seeds
occupy an important place in ayurvedic medicine.
Research shows that sesame seeds and their lignans, particularly
sesamine, offer numerous health benefits.
¤ They affect the metabolism of tocopherols, probably by
inhibiting the action of an enzyme that damages them. These are
constituents of vitamin E which provide powerful antioxidant
protection to lipids. When animals were supplemented with sesame
seeds or sesamine, for example, their tocopherol levels
increased and lipid peroxidation decreased.
¤ They improve lipid profiles. A Japanese study suggests that
supplementation with sesamine reduces total cholesterol.
¤ Animal and human studies indicate that sesame seeds and
sesamine lower blood pressure. Sesamine reduces levels of
leucotrienes and inflammatory prostaglandins, components of the

¤ Sesame lignans boost the beneficial effects of fish oils by
protecting them from oxidation.
¤ Sesamine increases the action of CLA on reducing adipose
tissue. It is a precursor of enterolactone, a lignan which is
produced naturally in humans and animals by gut microflora, from
precursors provided by the diet.
Sesamin holds promise as a beneficial, health enhancing
ingredient and that it may help support healthy hormone profile,
healthy muscle tone, healthy weight management, and healthy
immune system function although sesamin extract use is new and
there is little scientific study to date that has substantiated

How many grams of long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids are in a
teaspoon of Sealogix™?
One teaspoon of liquid Sealogix™ contains 2.7 grams of long chain
omega-3 fatty acids. This is slightly more than one tablespoon
of cod liver oil. This is equivalent to taking nine (9) capsules
of typical health-food grade fish oil. Each teaspoon of Sealogix™
contains 1800 mg. (1.8 g) of EPA and 900 mg. (0.9 g) of DHA.
Why this particular ratio of EPA and DHA?
The 2:1 ratio of EPA and DHA in Sealogix™ is virtually the same
as that used in all scientific studies conducted with Sealogix™
Fish Oil reporting health benefits.
How much Sealogix™ should I take?
A good maintenance dose is 2.5 grams of long chain omega-3 fatty
acids each day. This dosage represents either four Sealogix™
capsules or one teaspoon of the liquid Sealogix™. This is the
amount found in a tablespoon of cod liver oil. Most people will
find that the capsules are the preferred choice for daily
supplementation of Sealogix™ fish oil because of their ease of
use. Individuals who will use the liquid Sealogix™ are those who
require higher amounts of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, and
find taking the liquid easier than taking large numbers of
capsules.
